Verity Helps Bombers Run Win Streak to 4
|
Bombers third baseman Ron Verity put his stamp on his team's 10-4 win over the Mile High Mustangs. Verity went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for South Carolina in the contest. The winner was Vincenzo Rizzoli, who threw 104 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 3 hits. The Mustangs fall to 7-15 and continue their wobbly start to the 2034 season.
The Bombers got a big at-bat from second baseman Esteban Ruíz. For the game, Ruíz went 1 for 3 with a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 11th hit of the season gave South Carolina a 2-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ruíz told reporters after the game.
