Argonauts Lose, 5-1, at Bronx Ballpark
|
Bronx pitcher Arslan Halit did his part in helping his team beat the Astoria Argonauts, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Halit went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-3. Bronx is now riding a 4-game win streak.
Ken Cashmann was 1-2 with a walk for Bronx. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Steve McBryde. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
Cashmann called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
