Bombers Win at Vancouver, 4-2
|
The Bronx Bombers defeated the Vancouver Canadians, 4-2, in Darryl Kile League action at Stanley Park, with Bronx pitcher Yasukazu Kouda named player of the game. Bronx, at 19-34, sits in last place in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
The Bombers got a big at-bat from right fielder Jesus Chavez. For the game, Chavez went 1 for 4. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 34th hit of the season gave Bronx a 3-2 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Kouda said after the game.
