The Albuquerque Cacti stopped the Astoria Argonauts, 3-2, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The Cacti got a big game from Kijuro Masuda, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The Cacti saw their win-loss record go to 27-24. At the same time, the Argonauts fell to 27-21.
Masuda had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch cutter from Steve McBryde, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Cacti a 3-2 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Masuda.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Masuda said after the game.
