Antioch got a terrific performance from catcher Gerard Vivian, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bowling Green Racers. Bowling Green won the Top of the Hill contest, 13-7. Vivian was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Bowling Green reliever Tony Nájera picked up the win to move to 1-0. Lúcio Barrón suffered the loss. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Daniel Carrasco.

Felipe Trinidad aided the Bowling Green cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4.

"We came out aggressive," said Racers manager Jorge Magana. "We came out swinging the bats."

At 27-24, the Racers find themselves in third place in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division.
