|
The Argonauts had to overcome a fine performance from Vancouver pitcher Javier Ballina to grab a 5-4 win at Golden Fleece Park. Ballina allowed 2 earned runs over 6 innings. The win was Artashes Injeyan's in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Thomas Kearton took the loss for Vancouver. Vancouver now has a 6-game losing streak.
Roberto Vargas was the walk-off hero for Astoria. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Argonauts catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Vargas. "And not try to do too much."
