Georgia and San Francisco duked it out at Golden Gate Park and the Grays came out victorious.
The Georgia Grays topped the San Francisco Earthquakes, 3-0, in Thurman Munson League action at Golden Gate Park. The player of the game was Georgia pitcher Bill Piner. Piner, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks.
Lee Brooks aided the Georgia cause with a solo home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 3 with a home run.
"This team is real focused right now," said Georgia manager Davey Morris.
The Grays keep rolling, raising their record to 14-8.
