Bumblebees Prevail, 2-1, Over Detroit
|
The Pasadena Bumblebees did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Detroit Death Stars at The Death Star. Nobody did more than pitcher Pepe Trevino, who captured player of the game honors. Trevino went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-2. António Mejía, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Mototsune Yamamoto, who is tied for 9th in the DKL in bases on balls with 24, aided the Pasadena cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first. For the game, the third baseman drove in one run.
"It feels good to get this one," Trevino told the Pasadena Today.
Even with the win, the Bumblebees have a dismal 8-37 record.
