Victory Pushes Cats Record to 23-22
|
Stanley Park was the site of a competitive game between the Vancouver Canadians and Fort Worth Cats.
The Vancouver Canadians got a superb performance from pitcher Sean Nichols, but the Fort Worth Cats still won the game, 4-3. Nichols was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings allowing 4 runs. Fort Worth has now won 5 straight, while the Canadians have lost 3 in a row.
Pat Yelland aided the Fort Worth cause with a 2-run double in the top of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"Both teams played hard," said Fort Worth manager Walt Dobson.
