Blazers Get One-Run Win at Quebec
|
The Bloomington Blazers handed the Quebec Armada a loss at Lucky 7 Ballpark. The final score was 4-3. Levi Meeuwenberg was named player of the game for Bloomington. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. The winner was Freddy Aguilar in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Darma Djojohadiksumo took the loss. Paco Berroa saved it for Bloomington.
Meeuwenberg had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a 2-1 sinker from Darma Djojohadiksumo, he banged a run-scoring single to right, giving the Blazers a 4-3 lead. It was the 19th hit of the year for Meeuwenberg.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Bloomington manager Javier Ramírez.
Losses have been few and far between for the Armada so far this season. Their record drops to 13-7.
