Fairfield second baseman Susumu Kono had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Kono went 3-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Silver Lake beat the Flash, 5-4. Kono was named the player of the game despite the loss. The last-place Baristas improved to 17-25.
Avery McNeil was 1 for 3 for Silver Lake. The 28-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Frank Hillier. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"I felt good up there," said McNeil. "I saw the ball well."
