Cacti Bang Out 6-1 Win Versus Coronado
|
Albuquerque right fielder Donald Stevens was a significant contributor in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Coronado Phantoms. He went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks for Albuquerque. Albuquerque has now won 3 in a row.
The Cacti got a big at-bat from catcher Kiyoji Matsumoto. For the game, Matsumoto was 1-2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Albuquerque a 2-1 lead.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Matsumoto told the Albuquerque Daily News. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
