Parker Lifts Bomberos to 7-5 Triumph
|
The Espanola Bomberos defeated the Silver Lake Baristas, 7-5, in Nick Adenhart League action at Ashton Gate, with Espanola second baseman Steve Parker named player of the game. Mito Ishikawa was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. The Bomberos improve their record to 22-17 with the win over Silver Lake.
Parker had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Mike Wolcott, he banged a bases-clearing double to left-center, giving the Bomberos a 7-5 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Parker.
"I had some good swings out there," said Parker.
