Canadians Score Late to Upend Paczkis, 7-5
|
Nick Wedemeyer had a good game, but he could not keep the Canton Paczkis from falling, 7-5, to the Vancouver Canadians at Mckinley Park. The Canton shortstop was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times in the loss. The Canadians move to 23-17 with the win, while the Paczkis drop to 15-24.
Had Phil Kinch not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Kinch hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Canadians.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Kinch told the Vancouver News.
