Canadians Win at Canton, 4-3
|
The Vancouver Canadians defeated the Canton Paczkis, 4-3, in Nick Adenhart League action at Mckinley Park, with Vancouver right fielder Aki Daijo named player of the game. The first-place Canadians have a one-game lead in their division.
The Canadians got a big at-bat from center fielder Julián Reséndez. For the game, Reséndez was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 16th hit of the season gave Vancouver a 3-2 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Daijo told reporters after the game.
