The Espanola Bomberos topped the Silver Lake Baristas by the score of 6-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Jeff Ayers. Ayers went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Bomberos on the day. The Bomberos bumped their record to 21-17 with this latest triumph.
The Bomberos got a big at-bat from third baseman Lewis Hoskins. For the game, Hoskins went 2 for 5 with a double. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season gave Espanola a 1-0 lead.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Hoskins told the Espanola Daily News.
