The Espanola Bomberos got a sterling performance from pitcher Mitsuzuka Nakano, but the Baristas still prevailed, 3-2. Nakano was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Mike Wolcott got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. With the victory, the Baristas record now stands at 14-22.
Vittoriano Lussu had a big run-scoring single for the Baristas in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Silver Lake leading 2-1 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from Mitsuzuka Nakano and stroked the single to right. It was his 34th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Baristas ahead, 3-1.
Lussu told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
