The Minneapolis Freeze took Joplin pitcher Jacob Willard's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Firepit. The final score had Minneapolis getting past the Fireballs, 6-5. Willard went 6.2 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 6. Minneapolis reliever Pedro García got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Pedro Galló was tagged with the loss. Alex Alvarez earned save number 4.

Wang Huang had a nice at-bat for the Freeze with one out in the top of the 11th. With a runner on 3rd, the third baseman drew a walk, which would prove important in the Minneapolis win.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Huang said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The Freeze have an impressive 22-12 record.
