Despite a fine performance by center fielder Hoshi Ishikawa, the Fairfield Flash suffered a 5-4 loss to the Espanola Bomberos. Ishikawa went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Espanola reliever Aubert Licci picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Alex Gutierrez shouldered the loss. Espanola is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Kimi Kokura drove in one run for Espanola. The 29-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Alex Gutierrez. It was his 14th RBI of the season.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Kokura.
