Racers Prevail, 6-4, Over Chicago
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Luis Chávez, the Chicago Titans suffered a 6-4 loss to the Bowling Green Racers. Chávez went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Bowling Green reliever Vincente Cerni picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jorge García shouldered the loss. Bowling Green is now riding a 5-game win streak.
Won-keun Park, who is tied for 4th in the NAL in extra base hits with 17, aided the Bowling Green cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.
"Winning is contagious," said Park. "We're looking forward to the next game."
