Caterpillars Get One-Run Win at Billings
|
Corey Follows was instrumental in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Billings Mustangs. The catcher went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI for the Peoria Caterpillars. Peoria reliever David Gilmour got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Gareth King was tagged with the loss. Roger Waters locked down his 8th save.
Follows had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from José Chávez, he banged a run-scoring single to left, giving the Caterpillars a 6-5 lead. It was the 4th hit of the year for Follows.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Billings manager Bill Martin. "The effort was great."
Peoria's record now stands at 15-21, placing them 5th in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
