Cacti Get Close Win Over Aeropostales
The Indian Wells Aeropostales got a superb performance from pitcher George Fortin. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Albuquerque. The Cacti won the game, 3-1. In spite of the loss, Fortin was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball. Albuquerque reliever Mario Deleón was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Chris Bacon. Willie Fierro closed the game out for Albuquerque, earning his 12th save.

Donald Stevens made it 2-1, Albuquerque, in the top of the eighth when he reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Cacti win.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Albuquerque skipper Tom Robertson. "I can't complain."

The Cacti bumped their record to 19-16 with this latest triumph.
