The Silver Lake Baristas defeated the Chicago Titans, 6-5, at Ashton Gate today. Leading the charge for Silver Lake was second baseman Vittoriano Lussu. He was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Baristas hope to make a postseason run.
Masamune Fujimoto was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs for Silver Lake. The 29-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Lorenzo Espinoza. It was his 11th RBI of the season.
"We found a way to get it done," Fujimoto said.
