Juan Gruzmán was instrumental in his team's 6-0 triumph over the Pasadena Bumblebees. The second baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Joplin Fireballs. Dave Conboy earned the win for Joplin. He lasted 8.1 innings, allowing no earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 4-1. Pasadena's current losing streak is now 4 games.

Gruzmán had a big at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the top of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Fireballs went on to win.
