Bomberos Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Bowling Green
|
The Espanola Bomberos downed the Bowling Green Racers, 6-2, at Casa de Fuego. The Bomberos were led by Rudy Cash, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Kagetoki Ohayashi, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 2-0. The Racers drop to 15-18 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2034 season.
The Bomberos got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jeff Ayers. For the game, Ayers went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 10th hit of the season gave Espanola a 3-2 lead.
