Joplin rode a fine outing from starter Charlie Haydon to victory over the Pasadena Bumblebees at The Hole. The final score was 5-1. The Fireballs, now 22-9, have hit the ground running this season.

Takashi Tsuruta, who is tied for 3rd in the DKL in doubles with 9, aided the Joplin cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Haydon said.
