Southland Excels, But Argonauts Win
Canton designated hitter Mark Southland was sensational. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Astoria beat the Paczkis, 13-6. Southland was named the player of the game despite the loss. The winner was Astoria reliever Peng Zhi, now 1-0. The loser was Ben Robinson. The Paczkis fall to 12-18 and continue their uneven start to the 2034 season.

Kieran Alexander aided the Astoria cause with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

In postgame comments to the Astoria Herald, Alexander said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
