Islanders Bang Out 9-1 Win Versus San Diego
Katsuhiko Shimizu left his imprint on the 9-1 Hawaii win against the San Diego Hops. Shimizu, who is tied for 8th in the RCL in hits with 23, went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Norogumi Yokoyama was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. The Hops fall to 7-14 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2034 season.

Hawaii grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Shimizu, who is tied for 8th in the RCL in hits with 23, hit a 2-run single. His 23rd hit of the season put the Islanders out in front, 3-1.
