The Santa Fe Fuego racked up a win at House of the Republic, bumping off the So Cal Republic, 2-0. Oliver Romero, who started for Santa Fe, pitched effectively for his team. Picking up the save was Jun'ichi Suzuki, his 6th. Losses have been few and far between for the Republic so far this season. Their record drops to 13-7.

Romero was in the zone all game. He frustrated So Cal hitters while giving the Fuego 8 innings of quality work. Romero threw 113 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 4 punchouts.

"I liked his command," said Santa Fe manager Troy Olsen. "Oliver was throwing strikes."
