Chicago and Detroit duked it out at The Death Star and the Titans came out victorious.
Chicago Titans starter Nobuharu Fujita pitched a strong game against the Detroit Death Stars at The Death Star, leading the Titans to a 2-0 win. Brian Mullins earned the save for Chicago, his 1st.
Marshall Dempsey, who is tied for 7th in the NAL in total bases with 54, chipped in for Chicago with a solo home run in the top of the second. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"This team is on a mission," said Dempsey, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
Chicago, now 17-10, has gotten their season off to a good start.
