|
In a low-scoring clash between Peoria and Reno, pitcher Steve Gould was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned player of the game honors for Peoria in the 3-1 win. Roger Waters closed the game out for Peoria, earning his 7th save. The win gives Peoria a record of 13-16.
Mike Burge, who is tied for 5th in the DKL in extra base hits with 12, aided the Peoria cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 4 with a double.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Gould said.
