The Baristas grabbed a win, 4-3, at Ashton Gate, overcoming a fine effort from Calgary pitcher Fred Naylor. Naylor went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Silver Lake reliever Arata Shimizu, now 2-0. The loser was Fred Naylor. Earning his 2nd save for Silver Lake was Bhanuratha Vaithu.
Si-dao Chi, who is rated as the 33rd best prospect by BNN, aided the Silver Lake cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the second. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs.
"Enjoyed this one," Chi told the Silver Lake Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Silver Lake, now 10-16, is off to a slow start.
