Bell Goes Wild, But Freeze Win
|
Minneapolis and Canton duked it out at Mckinley Park and the Freeze came out victorious.
Canton got a terrific performance from center fielder James Bell, but it wasn't enough to beat the Minneapolis Freeze. Minneapolis won the Mckinley Park contest, 6-5. Bell was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Reliever Shinji Makino picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Goro Ota took the loss.
The Freeze got a big at-bat from catcher Reece Wager. For the game, Wager was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 3-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Minneapolis manager John Justin.
The Paczkis fall to 11-15 and continue to sputter in the early going.
