The Indian Wells Aeropostales stymied the Peoria Caterpillars, 2-1, at Stars Field. José Soto, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Indian Wells. Jose Avilez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Gusti Kusuma was tagged with the loss. The Caterpillars fall to 11-16 and continue their lackluster start in 2034.
Soto had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 fastball from Gusti Kusuma, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Aeropostales a 2-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Soto.
"It was a solid team effort," said Soto after the game.
