Canadians Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus Omaha
|
The Vancouver Canadians picked up a win at Stanley Park, knocking off the Omaha Raptors, 7-4. Starting pitcher Sean Nichols was an essential part of his team's success. Nichols got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 9 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Nichols allowed 3 earned runs. Vancouver, now 16-9, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Canadians got a big at-bat from first baseman Stanton Miller. For the game, Miller went 2-3 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 5th hit of the season gave Vancouver a 3-2 lead.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Nichols.
