Rockets Come Back Late to Clip Bombers
|
The Reno Rockets faced a tough opponent in Bronx pitcher Jerry Hughes, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Red Rocket Field by a final score of 4-3. Hughes went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Charlie Bennett got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The Bombers fall to 11-15 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
Pat Hartley was the walk-off hero for Reno. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rockets third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Hartley called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
