Caterpillars Turn Back Indian Wells, 3-1
|
Peoria Caterpillars starter Morihiro Hashimoto turned in a top-notch performance against the Indian Wells Aeropostales at Stars Field. The result was a win for the Caterpillars, 3-1. Hashimoto, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Roger Waters earned the save for Peoria, his 6th of the year.
Mike Burge, who leads the DKL in bases on balls with 21, chipped in for Peoria with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"It was a solid team effort," said Burge after the game.
The Aeropostales fall to 11-15 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
