Caterpillars Turn Back Omaha, 10-8
|
Caterpillars right fielder Doug Hinton put his stamp on his team's 10-8 win over the Omaha Raptors. Hinton was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 3 walks. He scored 3 times for Peoria in the contest. The Raptors fall to 10-13 and continue their wobbly start to the 2034 season.
The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from third baseman Thomas Hughes. For the game, Hughes was 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the top of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 22nd hit of the season gave Peoria a 6-5 lead.
In comments to the Peoria Citizen, Hughes admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
