New England and Rubber City played a hard-fought contest at The Rubber Grounds.
New England Colonials starter Juan Martínez was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Rubber City Rhinos, 3-1. Martínez got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Martínez allowed 1 earned run. Juan Vázquez locked down his 5th save.
The Colonials got a big at-bat from catcher Luppe Missel. For the game, Missel was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave New England a 2-0 lead.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Martínez.
The Rhinos drop to 8-12 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2034 season.
