Brown, Coal Miners Wallop Death Stars

With first baseman Elijah Brown leading the charge, the Antioch Coal Miners defeated the Detroit Death Stars, 12-2, at The Coal Mine. Brown, who is tied for 2nd in the DKL in runs scored with 21, went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Lúcio Barrón was the winning pitcher. Over 9 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 10 strikeouts. Antioch, now 14-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Coal Miners got a big at-bat from catcher Gerard Vivian. For the game, Vivian went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Antioch a 1-0 lead.
