Freeze Come Up Short at Peoria
Peoria starter Morihiro Hashimoto pitched effectively against the Minneapolis Freeze at Excavatar Park. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Hashimoto picked up the win for Peoria, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. The save went to Roger Waters, his 4th this season.

The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from third baseman Yang Xing. For the game, Xing went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Peoria a 3-1 lead.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Hashimoto.
