Benefiting from an exceptional performance from John Pinnock, the Fairfield Flash defeated the Canton Paczkis, 10-3. Pinnock went 3-5 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Flash. Joe Gillard was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Benjamin Stevenson earned the save, his 1st, for the Flash.
Dan Thibodeau, who is tied for 4th in the NAL in hits with 22, chipped in for Fairfield with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the designated hitter had 3 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Feels good to get the job done," Thibodeau said after the game.
The win brings the Flash to 9-7, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
