Beavers Prevail, 3-1, Over Hawaii
|
Portland Beavers starter Yoshiaki Kojima was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Hawaii Islanders, 3-1. Kojima picked up the win for Portland, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 4-0. The Islanders fall to 7-11 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2034 season.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from catcher Ralph Blair. For the game, Blair went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Portland a 1-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Kojima, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
