Miller Helps Rockets Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Reno Rockets topped the Coronado Phantoms, 8-4, with youngster Matt Miller playing a key role. Miller went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Rockets in the win. Robert Cook got the save, the 6th for him this season. Losses have been few and far between for the Phantoms so far this season. Their record drops to 12-4.
Reno used the timely hitting of Kiyoshi Shinohara to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Rockets on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Reno manager Tom Morton.
