Coronado Wins 7-2 to Continue Red Hot Start
|
The Coronado Phantoms defeated the Fort Worth Cats, 7-2, in Nick Adenhart League action at LaGrave Field, with Coronado pitcher Francisco Zúñiga named player of the game. Zúñiga picked up the win for Coronado, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 11 hits. He now sports a record of 4-0. The Phantoms, now 12-3, have been on a roll in the early going.
Had Andy Sabean not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Sabean hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Phantoms.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Zúñiga.
