Baristas Win in Extras
The Bowling Green Racers and Silver Lake Baristas provided some drama at Top of the Hill.

The Silver Lake Baristas beat the Bowling Green Racers, 8-7, at Top of the Hill. Silver Lake left fielder Masamune Fujimoto earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-5 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Takashi Toru closed the game out for Silver Lake, earning his 1st save.

The Baristas got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Hilario Martínez. For the game, Martínez was 1 for 1. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Silver Lake a 8-7 lead.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Martínez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The Racers fall to 6-9 and continue their uneasy start to the 2034 season.
