With first baseman Levi Meeuwenberg leading the charge, the Bloomington Blazers defeated the Eureka Hornets, 12-2, at Arson Arena. Meeuwenberg, the three overall pick in the 2028 draft, went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 6. Rubén Cabrera was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. The win brings the Blazers to 10-8, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
The Blazers got a big at-bat from left fielder Roger Barrett. For the game, Barrett was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 18th hit of the season gave Bloomington a 3-2 lead.
