Bomberos Clip Rockets in Tight Contest
|
The Espanola Bomberos picked up a win at Red Rocket Field, knocking off the Reno Rockets, 4-2. Starting pitcher Tokutomi Nishida played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Espanola reliever Ross Astbury, now 1-0. The loser was Charlie Bennett. Ronaldo Pérez recorded his 4th save for Espanola.
Shane Measures aided the Espanola cause with a 2-run single in the top of the eighth. For the game, the catcher was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Nishida.
The Rockets fall to 6-7 and continue their wobbly start to the 2034 season.
