Brown scores 3 runs, Coal Miners Move to 11-1
|
Antioch first baseman Elijah Brown had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 13-12 win over the Astoria Argonauts. The winner was Antioch reliever Ramón Torres, now 1-0. The loser was Chris Pelton. The Coal Miners, now 11-1, have had a terrific start to the season.
Brown contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Antioch in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 8-6, Brown took a cutter from Chris Pelton and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Coal Miners to leap in front, 9-8.
"I wouldn't want to be playing us right now," said Antioch manager Hervé Barthélémy.
