The Bronx Bombers got a sterling performance from pitcher Vincenzo Rizzoli, but the Caterpillars still prevailed, 1-0. Rizzoli was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings allowing 1 run. Roger Waters sewed up the save, his 3rd. The Caterpillars have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 4th win in 13 games.

The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from designated hitter Danny Sanchez. For the game, Sanchez went 2-4 with 2 singles. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 8th hit of the season gave Peoria a 1-0 lead.
